2023Jean Pierre Berthenet has successfully taken over and developed this estate of more than 20 hectares of vines owned in Montagny. He is now passing the torch to his son François.
Serious and reliable producer who develops a diversified and very good range of Montagny and Montagny Premiers Crus, which is regularly awarded (see the Hachette guide). Don't hesitate to discover their other appellations from the Côte Chalonnaise, especially in red with a very good quality Givry. Also of note is a novelty that will interest lovers of purity: a Bourgogne Chardonnay without added sulphites (sulphur).
The Montagny and Montagny 1er cru wines of Domaine Berthenet are fine and concentrated, very representative of the great white wines of this beautiful appellation in the south of Burgundy.
In 2020, Domaine Berthenet was named winemaker of the year by the Hachette guide, a reference in France for wine buying guides.
